History of World Teachers' Day

Teachers' Day in India is observed on 5th September to venerate the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. He was a prominent scholar, receiver of Bharat Ratna, first Vice- President, and subsequently the second President of sovereign India. He was born on September 5, in the year 1888. As an educationist, he was a supporter of improvement and was an eminent envoy, academician, and above all a remarkable teacher.
